System Objectives & Modules

Designed for Commuter Safety & Property Recovery

TricyTag addresses four core research objectives — a secure QR-based system for identifying tricycles, recording trips, visualizing spatial data, and ensuring left-behind items are easily traced and returned.

Core Objective 1

QR-Code Tricycle Identification

Each registered tricycle unit carries a unique TricyTag QR code. Commuters scan it to instantly verify driver credentials, franchise validity, and active TODA registration — ensuring a safe, certified ride every time.

Core Objective 2

Trip Recording & Ride Logs

Every QR scan timestamps and logs the commuter's boarding event, tricycle body number, driver, and route zone — creating a tamper-proof digital audit trail accessible by TODA administrators.

Core Objective 3

Spatial Data Visualization Map

An interactive GIS map displays real-time tricycle activity across Mamburao — showing route densities, TODA hub coordinates, and zone-level traffic heatmaps for transport planning.

Core Objective 4

Left-Behind Item Retrieval

Passengers who forget belongings file a retrieval ticket linked to the tricycle body number. The system matches reports to driver logs, notifies via SMS, and tracks the claim through to a verified handover.

Supporting Feature

Vetted TODA Driver Registry

A secure database of verified tricycle operators, license records, vehicle plate information, and rating histories — powering trust between commuters and transport groups.

Supporting Feature

Automated SMS Match Alerts

When a left-behind item is matched to a driver or secured at a retrieval desk, both the passenger and the responsible driver instantly receive an SMS alert with claim instructions and desk location.

Inquiries

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear and direct answers to common questions about claiming procedures, requirements, and system records.

When boarding a Mamburao tricycle, scan the TricyTag QR code displayed inside the cab. This verifies the driver's official license credentials, vehicle details, and active TODA registration logs, assuring a secure and certified ride.
You should immediately search the vehicle body number in our Tracker, or file a ticket using the 'Report Property Left-Behind' form below. Our automated system will flag the ticket for matching and alert the respective TODA supervisor and driver.
Each transport zone has a physical desk: the Poblacion Central Loop office, the Port Terminal Dispatch Hub, and the Airport Road station. Located items are stored securely at these physical desks until claimed by the verified owner.
To claim your item, present your Retrieval Ticket ID (e.g., RET-2026-002) and a valid government ID matching the owner's name on the ticket. Our TODA Desk Officer will verify your signature and hand over the item.
Yes, passenger check-ins are fully encrypted. The data is temporarily kept to verify active rides for safety and lost-and-found matching, after which logs are automatically archived in accordance with privacy laws.
